Basecamp Media Worlds Symposium

Ensō Education Institute hosted a two-day symposium at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on June 25-26, 2022

The symposium on Connecting to Movies in Education explored the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Museum Row in Los Angeles with media experts such as Steve Werblun (acclaimed storyboard artist). Using the Academy Museum as our “textbook,” we explored implications for education from understanding pre-production, production, and post-production in movies.

The Academy Museum is committed to building an anti-racist, inclusive organization that contextualizes and challenges dominant narratives around cinema, and builds authentic relationships with diverse communities. The Academy Museum creates spaces that highlight and prioritize the experience of traditionally underrepresented or marginalized people while advancing the understanding, celebration, preservation, and accessibility of movies through its business practices, exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections.
